Mistaya Lodge, cradled high in the magnificent Canadian Rockies, offers a hiker's and climber's paradise. Located in the upper basin of Wildcat Creek, our lodge is surrounded by wildflower glades, emerald green lakes and glaciated mountains.

From the front door of the lodge, wildflower glades lead gently upward to broad alpine meadows nourished by melt-water from several glaciers which ascend the wind and ice sculptured peaks on the margins of the basin. In the lower portions of the basin, trails provide efficient access to prominent features and help to prevent damage to the fragile alpine vegetation. In keeping with the essence of the pristine wilderness, there are marked routes rather than developed trails in the upper reaches of the basin.

- What to Bring

- When traveling in this terrain it is best to be equipped with a sturdy pair of good quality lug-soled hiking boots that have been recently treated with waterproofing agent. Expect to encounter a wide variety of weather conditions (often within the same day) and select your outdoor clothing to be layered accordingly. Guests usually bring a light day pack in which they carry rain gear, water bottle, wind jacket, sweater, light gloves, sunglasses, camera and sunscreen as well as their lunch and personal items. Dress when in the lodge is very casual and indoor footwear is suggested.

of Mistaya Lodge to an abundance of interesting alpine terrain makes it an ideal
base for ascents of spectacular peaks, travel on glaciers, and instruction in a
variety of skills. We can arrange climbs, trips and courses that suit individual
abilities from novice to advanced. All our technical mountaineering trips are
led by professional certified guides. Please phone or write well in advance to
discuss your plans and allow us to make arrangements.
