Winter season 2011 comes to an end!

Another winter has come and …..it’s still here. Currently outside at the lodge it’s snowing 2cm an hour with 15cm new today. Where is everybody…?  We should still be skiing!

I’m getting everything put away for the winter

and dealing with all the chores that didn’t get done earlier. I should be out skiing. With all the new snow this week it was a little harder getting the firewood back to the lodge, the old skidoo had to work extra hard through the powder pulling the logs.

about this winter and its abundance of snow. We enjoyed plenty of weeks of fresh powder at Mistaya with an overall lack of sunshine and glacier skiing, due to all the bad visibility days. We did get lots of great tree skiing in though. As of today we have reached 8 meters of accumulated snow fall this winter at the lodge. Things looked a tad skimpy at Christmas but then New Years came with huge snows and of course with all that snow…..bad driving conditions to get to Golden. And it pretty much stayed that way the rest of the winter.

A big thank you to everyone who was able to come ski with us this winter and if you were not able to make it here in 2010/11 then we hope we’ll see you next winter.  Again this winter we were able to ski with a lot of our old friends and got to make some new ones. Lots of memories, new ski lines and great stories.
